science and metal railing

here’s a good use for metal railing: science. this is an after-school science and math club and they are testing parachutes that they have designed and made.

maybe they could analyze some wood railing patterns and see if the have any elements of chaos theory.

minimalist railing

wow! another awesome black and white pic that is surreal. taking black and white pictures requires a good eye for contrast. I also like the symmetry of the railing posts.

for something decidedly warmer and rustic, check out this exterior railing

metal foot bridge

here’s a shot of a foot bridge that links Nebraska and Iowa across the Missouri River. as one commenter noted, it’s beautiful but cost $18 million to build and doesn’t look like it’s very well traveled. I really like the shadows of the metal railing in the foreground.

check out these wood handrails for something not quite so commercial and a lot more rustic!

decorative railing

hey all
check out this shot of a metal railing. the decorative finial on the top looks like a building ready to fall. I like the blurry background of organic shapes and the strong lines of the square railing pieces.

if you’d like to blend the organic nature of the background with the handrail in front, check out this wood handrail that will bring the outdoors inside!
